Tesla Unveils Enhanced Model 3: Redesigned Look, Extended Range, and Exciting Features

Tesla has taken the wraps off its upgraded Model 3 in Europe, previously referred to as “Project Highland.” This refresh encompasses significant changes to the vehicle’s appearance, interior upgrades including expanded screens, and remarkable improvements in range. According to Tesla, this refresh incorporates alterations to more than half of the car’s components, although the exact metric remains undisclosed.

The most conspicuous transformations can be seen in the exterior of the Model 3. The front-end design has been streamlined, with the removal of the front bump in favor of a more streamlined look, featuring a central vent. The headlights have been redesigned to appear slimmer and sport an Audi-like LED daytime running light configuration.

While the sides of the vehicle remain relatively unchanged, there are fresh options for alloy wheel designs, including 18- and 19-inch choices. At the rear, Tesla has adopted a unified taillight design, replacing the split taillights of the previous model. The rear bumper has also undergone a makeover, now integrating the fog lights. Additionally, Tesla has introduced two new paint options: a shade reminiscent of the Model S and a “stealth grey” variant.

All these exterior modifications contribute to enhanced aerodynamics, resulting in a reported range improvement of over 10 percent. This translates to a range of 344 miles WLTP for the rear-wheel-drive version and an impressive 421 miles WLTP for the long-range model.

Tesla has also focused on improving ride quality through updated suspension tuning and a stiffer vehicle structure. To further enhance the driving experience, acoustic glass has been extended to the rear windows and rear window, reducing interior noise levels.

Inside the vehicle, substantial changes are evident. A revamped dashboard design features LED lighting, a customizable panel, and alterations to the steering wheel, replacing stalk-based indicators with buttons.

The infotainment system receives an upgrade with a brighter and more responsive screen. It now offers the ability to control the passenger air system and enhancements in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Tesla has also enhanced the audio experience, featuring a 17-speaker stereo system, an upgrade from the previous 14 speakers.

Passengers in the rear seats will find a new 8-inch screen mounted on the back of the center console. This screen provides access to adjustable climate controls, music, and popular entertainment apps such as Netflix, YouTube, and Disney Plus.

Deliveries of the upgraded Model 3 are set to commence in October in select European countries and the Middle East. However, availability in North America and the UK has not been officially announced. Pricing for the enhanced Model 3 starts at €42,990 for the rear-wheel-drive model and €50,990 for the long-range version.

In a surprise reveal, Tesla has officially introduced the refreshed Model 3, codenamed “Project Highland,” in Europe. This comprehensive update encompasses a redesigned front-end appearance, interior enhancements with expanded screens, and a significant increase in driving range. Tesla claims that over half of the vehicle’s components have been replaced in this refresh, although the precise details of this metric remain undisclosed.
